FaceBook Review
I participated in the sole trader information session delivered by Isaac. I highly recommend Daisi and Isaac, a wealth of knowledge, genuine and invested in ensuring mutually beneficial relationships between clients and sole traders.
The information session itself is very informative, provides you with everything you need to get started, I would highly recommend.
“Highly recommended”

Janelle Monaghan is my Support Coordinator for Dasi on the Gold Coast. Janelle is very skilful, has integrity, a hard worker and without her professionalism and support my brother Mark Renouf and myself would find it extremely difficult to negotiate with service providers to assist Mark to achieve his goals. Janelle is reliable in everything she does in supporting Mark and myself.
“Hard working and professional”

I am a carer and have been dealing with Janelle from Daisi for over 18 months and would highly recommend her to any one with a disability as their co-ordinator. She is amazing. She puts in 110% for her clients and their carers. She has never let us down once. She will always get back to you at her earliest convenience. Always follows up your queries. Is happy and kind and caring and thorough.
“Puts in 110%”

www.facebook.com/100082963977393/posts/265843572857773/?mibextid=cr9u03🔧 Here’s 10 types of Support Worker 🔧
❓ Which types do you have on your team?
1️⃣ 🦸 The "Hero Complex" Support Worker
Ah, the Hero Complex Support Worker. Always there to save the day, whether you want it or not. They feel so good about the work they’re doing for you, the poor unfortunate soul that you are.
👍 Pros: They're enthusiastic.
👎 Cons: They may forget that you have your own voice and opinions, and that you do not require rescuing.
2️⃣ 🌍 The "Adventure" Support Worker
Strap in because the Adventure Support Worker is here to take you on a wild ride! “Let’s do something different, all the time!” they say with gusto so *they* don’t get bored.
👍 Pros: Never a dull moment.
👎 Cons: Sometimes, you just want to buy bread without the side quest, or you want to join a local singing group and make some friends, which will never happen if you only go once.
3️⃣ 👫 The "I'm Your Best Friend" Support Worker
You know the one. They're your buddy, your pal, your BFF! They're here for the gossip, the selfies, the posts on Insta and all the social media likes… as long as they’re being paid.
👍 Pros: They're lots of fun and make you feel good (for about 12 minutes)!
👎 Cons: Boundaries? What boundaries? What, you’re moving interstate and I’ll never see you again? But I thought you were my friend?!
4️⃣ ☕ The "Let's Go for Coffee" Worker
(Ugh) Do you like coffee? Hope so, because that's where you're going. In the shopping centre. Again. For the fifth time this week.
👍 Pros: You know the best car parks at every local shopping mall.
👎 Cons: You might not even like coffee that much. Or shopping malls, for that matter.
5️⃣ 👩⚕️ The “I know what’s best” support worker
These mothering souls know exactly what is best for YOU, and they don’t hold back letting you know, or even demanding that you buy the cutest plaid skirt and pray for salvation while you have your mall coffee with almond milk because you should be vegan to help cure you of your disability.
👍 Pros: You never have to think because all your decisions are made for you.
😡 Cons: you f@ckin HATE plaid, and skirts, for that matter. And almond milk makes you want to vomit. And you don’t want a religious “cure”!
6️⃣ 🚫 The "Oh, I Don't Do Those Things" Worker
With a list of tasks they won't do that rivals the length of a grocery receipt, navigating everyday activities can become a game of "Will They or Won't They?" While professional boundaries are important, the rigidity (and sometimes laziness) of this character is frustrating as all get out.
👍 Pros: Clear about limitations, may have specialized skills.
👎 Cons: Sometimes you just need someone to pick up the dog poop!
7️⃣ 💸 The "I Don't Have Training or Skills But I'll Still Charge Top Dollar" Worker
This worker has an abundance of (over)confidence, and very few skills, but know they can get away with charging the highest possible price because there just aren’t enough workers around.
👍 May have raw talent or innate caregiving ability.
👎 Lack of professional qualifications, overpriced services, and maybe unwilling to get even a first aid certificate.
8️⃣ 🧾 The "Why Don't I Make the Invoice Bigger and We'll Split the Cash" Worker
DANGER WILL ROBINSON! Stay well away from these people, because you WILL get caught and you WILL get in BIG trouble. This is just plain fraud. Illegal, unethical and plain old WRONG.
👍 None. There are no pros to this.
👎 Unethical, fraudulent, risks serious legal consequences – court, fines and jail time.
9️⃣ 👶 The "I Bring My Kid Along to Work" Worker
This is the worker who doesn’t call and warn or ask in advance, but just shows up with their four year old, and then spends half of YOUR shift that YOU paid for, looking after their kid.
👍 Humanizing, may create warm interactions or social opportunities on an occasional basis.
👎 Can be distracting, unprofessional, affects focus and might lead to being taken advantage of.
🔟❤️ The Good Support Worker
Among all of these worker types, you'll find good support workers who genuinely want to help people find their passion. Most workers are good humans who want to do the right thing, they’re just misguided about how to go about it. You and your loved ones are just going to have to work towards training and supporting workers to know and deliver what really matters to you.
👍 Pros: Empowering, patient, and focused on you.
👎 Cons: Hard to find, but worth the search and training.
🎭 So, there you have it, just a few of the profiles you might come across. What are you doing to help these personalities do a better job?
🧾 Do you have a written or video support worker brief?
😉 And hey, next time you're dragged to another coffee outing, maybe you can convince them to switch it up to tea? 🍵
