Round 1 Recap!
Round 1 saw a great turn out of participants and spectators. Competitor Kieran Watts was too good on the day, taking out both WF1 & WZ2 classes. However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for Watts who faced a stewards enquiry into exceeding track limits in Heat 2, but later being cleared with no further action taken,

Some great news also for competitor Rodney Baxter, who after his consistent performances has earned a seat in a V8 supercar support category. Aussie Driver Search has followed Rodney's progress through 2016 & 2017, and have decided that Rodney's talent calls for him to step up into the higher ranks of motorsport.

This news is celebrated by WGP, showing the talent of our competitors, and that our series provides a genuine motorsport environment, that can be used to progress into other motorsport categories!

A special mention to competitor Steve Shadlow, who finished 2nd overall in WZ2 on debut!

What is Wheelchair Grand Prix??
WGP provides a platform to experience all the thrills, spills, and speed of motorsport to people previously unable to do so - through Power Wheelchair Racing!

The series features 2 classes, WZ2, a speed limited class to ensure a completely equal playing field, & WF1, an unrestricted class for those seeking the ultimate adrenaline rush!

Who is WGP?
WGP was created in 2013, when founder Christopher Quinlan saw a lack of motorsport opportunities for people living with a disability. Quickie WGP is a racing series much like any other motorsport. With specially designed tracks all over Australia, licensing, a rule book, teams and an unprecedented following of fans.
